Born in Hiroshima, kashiwa daisuke started off as the tokyo-based composer and guitarist of postrock band “yodaka” in 2001. Having evaluated their sound, they have been praised by Jim O’Rourke. Being inspired by their psychedelic sound due to a postrock approach and by Maurizio Bianchi, he started his solo project in 2004.

As a solo artist his idea is to create not only acoustic, but also electronic filmy soundscapes and atmospheres. He is doing that by melting together a variety of classic instruments, spoken word snippets, and crisp beats. With a proper amount of ambient music, all of these form an exquisite sound experience.

One day, while his tracks were selling on several CD-R’s, a honorable moment for kashiwa daisuke occurred when Ryuichi Sakamoto introduced a demo of kashiwa daisuke’s one lyrical opus ‘April.#02’ in his radio show Radio Sakamoto on Tokyo’s J-Wave channel.
